Melbourne, Australia - Australia's Anna Meares claimed three gold medals at the Melbourne round of the cycling World Cup, adding the women's 500 meter time trial and keiran to her sprint gold of the first day.
Meares took Australia's gold medal tally at Melbourne to eight from 17 events, ahead of New Zealand with four, and left Australia clear of Great Britain on overall standings after two World Cup rounds.
The Beijing Olympics sprint silver medalist posted a personal best time of 33.583 seconds, breaking her own Australian record, in beating compatriot Kaarle McCulloch in Saturday's time trial final. Sandie Clare of France was third.

She then beat China's Guo Shuang for the second time at the meet, after their sprint clash in Thursday's opening session, to take the keiran gold medal.
The New Zealand team of Kaytee Boyd, Lauren Ellis and Alison Shanks beat world champions Great Britain to win the women's team pursuit in 3 minutes, 24.771 seconds. Britain posted 3 minutes, 25.938 seconds and Australia took the bronze medal in 3 minutes 26.869 seconds ahead of Ukraine.
New Zealand also won the men's madison Saturday, Marc Ryan and Thomas Scully scoring 15 points while Germany was second with 8 and Ukraine third with 5.
Australia's Shane Perkins won the men's sprint gold medal, beating Kevin Sireau of France 2-0 in the best-of-three heat final.
Australia has 210 points after two Cup rounds, Britain has 199 and Germany 189. - Sapa-AP
