Lindsay Davenport will miss the French Open for the fourth year in a row after withdrawing due to personal reasons, officials have confirmed.

The 31-year-old mother of one who has won the three others majors, will join compatriot Andy Roddick as a no-show when the event gets underway on Sunday.

Roddick is suffering with back and shoulder injuries which forced him to quit a Rome semi-final and skip this week's ARAG World Team Cup, the prime tune-up in Dusseldorf.

Also missing from the 128-strong women's singles field will be Americans Meilen Tu (hip) and Meghann Shaughnessy (left knee).

Roddick's place will be taken by Argentine Guillermo Coria, the 2004 finalist now standing outside the Top 500. - Sapa-dpa
