Blue Bulls coach Frans Ludeke could have bought himself more time at the helm of the senior team at Loftus Versfeld, not only by filling the trophy cabinet but also with the constant flow of youngsters into senior rugby.

With the first piece of silverware in the bag - the Super 14 - and the Currie Cup trophy the main focus for the remainder of the year, Ludeke has plucked out another fledgling youngster and thrown him into the deep end.

Ludeke has named little known Jean-Claude Roos in his match 22 to play Western Province at Loftus on Saturday.

Having introduced himself in the colours of Tuks in the Varsity Cup earlier in 2009, Roos will in all likelihood make his debut in the latter stages of the match, as he will start on the bench behind former Hoerskool Waterkloof schoolmate Francois Brummer, who will be making his run-on debut after coming off the bench as a replacement for Burton Francis last week.

"(Roos) is a very good player, talented and gifted. We back the system and we know that it is time now for him. We have a lot of great youngsters coming through and they are in a good system and there is great structures around them. He knows what we expect and he trained well this week. He has been a brilliant player all his career and I can't see why he can't make it," Ludeke said.

Ludeke has made little change to his team, with Tiger Mangweni slotting in at fullback in place of the injured Zane Kirchner.
