Carlos Alberto Parreira finally admitted on Monday that the "chemistry" between Bafana Bafana and former coach Joel Santana was not right.
Parreira has been reluctant to criticise his Brazilian compatriot since taking over the reins of Bafana for the second time in October.
Santana was sacked after a run of eight defeats in nine games, with Parreira beginning a tricky process of getting a sinking ship ready for the 2010 World Cup with a goalless draw with Japan in Port Elizabeth on Saturday.
'Who did we lose to? Germany, Spain, Brazil' Parreira's next match will bne on Tuesday night, as Bafana face the Reggae Boyz of Jamaica - a side Bafana really ought to beat on home soil if they have any sort of aspirations at the 2010 World Cup - at Vodacom Park.

Parreira's own chemistry in his first spell with Bafana peaked in a 3-0 hammering of Paraguay in March 2008, a friendly that was soon followed by his resignation. And he admitted he had come back to a side not performing nearly as well.
"That game from my first period here was the highlight, especially as it was Paraguay, who led South American World Cup qualifying until the last game," he said.
Parreira cites his main problem as out-of-form players "In that game, we played the way I would love us to play in the World Cup, controlling the game, controlling the ball, possession, good combinations, good balance in the team.
"This is what we are aiming for.
