London - Roman, Rocco and Rohan have beaten remarkable odds.

For the naturally-conceived triplets are genetically identical – putting the chance of their birth at an astonishing 200 million to one. Their mother, Becki-Jo Allen, 23, got a huge shock when she had a nine-week scan and was told she was expecting triplets. “I couldn’t believe it,” she said. “We haven’t got any in the family.”

After being delivered by caesarean section at 31 weeks, the babies, now ten months old, are thriving at home in Gateacre, Liverpool. But their mother, who also has a three-year-old daughter, Indiana, wanted to know if they were as identical as they looked.

So she had their DNA analysed, and got the remarkable news that genetically they are exactly the same, meaning they were conceived when the fertilised egg split twice.
