London - It’s something chaps have long suspected.

And now, it seems, their suspicions have been confirmed: Many women are more likely to discuss sex with their friends than their partners.

According to a study, more than a third of women are willing to disclose to friends how many sexual partners they’ve had.

Meanwhile 38 percent will reveal how often they have sex, and a quarter would tell a female friend if they’d tried something “adventurous” - with three in ten detailing where they had done the deed.

But it seems the same spirit of honesty does not extend to their partners, as 33 percent would admit to a friend if they had slept with their boss in the past, while only five percent would choose to share their previous indiscretion with their other half.

When it came to matters outside the bedroom, almost half of British women would tell friends if they had taken a sickie, with only 37 percent owning up to their husbands. And a third would tell close friends if they had cheated in an exam, compared to a quarter who would tell their partner.

GP Dr Dawn Harper, who analysed the survey, carried out by health brand Balance Activ, said: “We know women love to talk. But we were particularly interested to see what they were willing to open up about.”
