Cocktail: Ginger, lemongrass and passion fruit sake

Ingredients: gin, sake, fresh passion fruit, lemongrass, ginger, brown sugar, crushed ice and lime juice.
In winter, I can always appreciate some ginger in a drink.
Pot Luck Club head barman Xolisa Dyabaza makes the drink by cutting fresh passion fruit and muddling it with lemongrass and ginger. To this he adds one shot of gin and two shots of sake. The ingredients go in a shaker with half a shot of lime juice and crushed ice. The mixture is then strained into an ornate glass and garnished with a slice of passion fruit.
It’s fruity, juicy and fresh. I could taste the fresh passion fruit.
The drink is a recipe of Dyabaza’s.
Owner Luke Dale-Roberts describes it as a casual and laid-back place.
The menu includes Asian, French and Mexican items. An open view of the bar and kitchen offers an opportunity to watch food and drink being prepared.
The Pot Luck Club also functions as an art gallery.
It is open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 6pm to 9.30pm and for lunch on Saturdays from noon to 2pm. - Weekend Argus
