Cocktail: Blackcurrant Collins

Price: R52 (R26 during happy hour)

Ingredients: A shot of vodka, granadilla syrup, granadilla juice, a splash of apple juice, granadilla pulp and blackcurrant cassis liqueur.

If you are treating yourself to some cocktails and sushi after a tiring shopping spree at the V&A, try Sevruga general manager Arno van Zyl’s favourite, the Blackcurrant Collins.

He builds it over crushed ice and crowns it with a splash of cassis.

It is a light drink with a cherry garnish that you can enjoy while staring at boats in the harbour, or the mountain.

Sevruga is a sister restaurant to Beluga in Green Point.

It can seat 350 people and is located near the Waterfront’s amphitheatre.

It’s decor includes a New York-style entrance, polished marble and wooden floors and a walnut bar counter.

The Caviar chain, of which Sevruga is a part, recently opened restaurants in Durban, including another Sevruga.

If you are watching your weight, Sevruga now offers low calorie cocktails.

They are open from noon daily.

Half price specials apply to sushi, cocktails and dim sum from noon to 6pm Monday to Saturday.

On Sunday, dim sum is half price all day while sushi and cocktails are 25 percent off from noon to 2pm and then half price until 6pm. – Weekend Argus
