Cabernet sauvignon is the second most widely planted cultivar in SA and continues to be a firm favourite with many winelovers.

Wine fundi Christian Eedes organised the inaugural Cabernet Sauvignon Report in partnership with Sanlam Private Investments.

The judging panel scrutinised 60 cabs, which were rated and given tasting notes.

Fourteen wines made it to the second round, from which the Top Ten for 2012 were chosen.
