REVIEW: Stella is stellar

I found it! My chic new summer sundowner hangout spot, Stella Café and Bar at the Cullinan Hotel Cape Town.

The Stella bar is a beautiful Paris-inspired space to relax and unwind while sampling delicious food and enjoying the finest drinks Cape Town has to offer.

Housed in the luxurious Southern Sun The Cullinan hotel on the Foreshore in the heart of the Cape Town CBD, Stella opens onto a magnificent pool terrace for sunny al fresco lunches and after-work drinks.

The experience of friendly staff and chefs that make you feel right at home while you sip on a delicious cocktail is something, I am sure, anyone could get used to.

Food! What glorious food.

Rocking up at the cafe after a long day of work means you are either dying of hunger or really not in the mood to eat much and at Stella that is #noproblem.

With a focus on fresh and seasonal produce, the ever-changing tapas menu features gourmet specials such as lamb kofta with mojito smoothie, lentils with sweet potato & harissa, squid stuffed with salami in tomato casserole, and broccoli & cranberry salad. Turkish delight cheese cake is one of the must-try sweet treats to finish off your meal.

The drinks menu boasts the finest selection of bubbly, wines, and craft beers, and the resident sommelier will assist with the perfect wine and food pairing.

The bar also gives you the option to try not just one but all the cocktails on the menu in a miniature form, which gave me the opportunity to try cocktails that I would normally shy away from. Irresistible summer cocktails include the Vanilla Pinotage and Rosso Martini, Elderflower G&T and the Tropical Rum Julep.

Lounging by the poolside, sipping a cocktail and listening to great music equals summer and a glorious one in my book.

The Stella Cafe and Bar is hip, happening and ticks all the right boxes. Check it out... you won't be sorry!
