He’s made cakes shaped like roulette tables, burning buildings and wedding dresses. He’s even used real insects as decorations. Now Buddy Valastro, known as the “Cake Boss”, will be bringing his crazy cake designs to Cape Town at this year’s Good Food & Wine Show.
Valastro shot to fame in 2010 when his television show Cake Boss aired on the American network TLC.
His ability to fulfil some of the most bizarre requests from customers has kept viewers entertained. He isn’t scared to mix pyrotechnics with his icing or wire model trains into his cake mixture.
“He’s going to be recreating an iconic part of SA as part of his on-stage demonstrations,” Louise Cashmore, marketing director for the Good Food & Wine Show, said.
“He wants to keep it as a surprise.”
Valastro will be exhibiting his cake decorating techniques live on stage at the Action Theatre at the CTICC.
