Despite the chilly weather, one of Durban’s hottest winter events, The Good Food and Wine Show, will be on at the Durban Exhibition Centre from July 28 to 31.

The national event is considered one of the finest on the world gourmet stage with the Durban leg rolling out the red carpet for famed foodies: Ainsley Harriott, Rachel Allen, Reza Mahammad, Madhur Jaffrey, one of the top MasterChef Australia contestants, and Willie Harcourt-Cooze, whose energetic and charismatic demonstrations, are predicted to be one of the roaring highlights of the show. CBeebies presenter Sid will make the show a truly family event.

Visitors to the show will be able to share a kitchen with the celebrity super-chefs and the cream of Durban’s chefs and celebrities at the Get Fresh with BBC Hands on Workshops in association with DStv, Woolworths, Elba and the Southern Sun Elangeni. Twelve participants, each with their own oven, ingredients and utensils, will cook alongside celebrity chefs.

Entrance to the show is R70 for adults and R45 for children under 12 and pensioners, available at the door. Tickets to the Samsung Chefs in Action Theatre start at R100, which includes your entrance. Available at Computicket. A family ticket will be introduced for the first time, enabling a family of four (two adults and two children under 12) entrance to the show for R190 and will be on sale until July 15 at Computicket.

Bookings for the Hands On Workshops must be made through Tyron at [email protected] or 021 702 2280.
