The Riebeek Valley is going to bursting with olives this weekend for the annual Olive Festival.

The Swartland area is the perfect setting in Autumn for the festival to celebrate the olive as the barrels in the wine valley will be overflowing with the small oval fruits.

Olives are used for many products like olive preserves and olive oil which will all be on display at the Riebeek Valley Olive Festival this weekend.

Organisers recommend a visit to the Olive Boutique in celebrating this ancient fruit, by sitting down to a Swartland Picnic with a choice of wine or stop at Pulpit Rock for some of their delectable potjie.

As is tradition every year, the Riebeek Kasteel Town Square will be the heart of the Olive Festival with local stalls, kids entertainment galore and lots to drink and eat.

So it won’t only be olives on the menu as there will be many craft beers, wines and olive inspired dishes for you to feast on.

Tickets are available through Webtickets and are R80
