Mother’s Day is when you must treat that special lady in your life, but you shouldn’t let it stress you out. If you’re not in the mood to cook a Sunday roast (and clean-up the kitchen afterwards) then you definitely need a plan B. If this is a last minute Mother’s Day mission and chances are restaurants are fully booked, then here are some other ideas to treat mom on her special day.

Joburg

If you’re in Johannesburg check out the Stanley Beer Yard (44 Stanley Ave, MilPark), they have a great lunch special with the added bonus of live jazz entertainment. Entrance is free and it all kicks off at 2pm. (Picture: Stanley Beer Yard Facebook Page)

Cape Town

In Cape Town you should definitely try the Mojo Market in Regent Road, Sea Point that opened last week. There are lots of cool places to choose from for a bite to eat, and mom can choose her own Mother’s Day gift from one of the many stalls and shops at the market. (Picture: Mojo Market Facebook Page)

Also in Cape Town (if it’s not yet fully booked) is the High Tea by the Sea at the President Hotel (4 Alexander Road, Bantry Bay). There’ll be a selection of teas and treats on offer and it costs R195. Email  [email protected] or call 021 434 8111 for more info.

Durban

Street food is a big deal in Durban right now and with the Smarket Street Feast happening in Durban this Friday at 8 Morrison Street, Rivertown, take mum to see another side of the city, even though it's two days before Mother's Day. Then you allow her to spend as much time as she wants, doing want she wants, on Mother's Day. (Picture: Roti & Chai Facebook Page)
