Reese Witherspoon’s husband reportedly didn’t want kids until he met her.
Hollywood agent Jim Toth, 41, is expecting his first child with the ‘This Means War’ actress – who has daughter Ava, 12, and son Deacon, eight, from her previous marriage to Ryan Phillippe – but apparently wasn’t always so keen on fatherhood.
A source said: “Before Jim met Reese, he wasn't sure about having kids. Being around her kids has really shown him what it's all about."
A second insider adds he is “super close” with the children and religiously attends Ava's school swimming competitions and Deacon's basketball games.
According to the source, the two youngsters “will love” having a baby brother or sister, and their dad Ryan, 37, will be on hand to offer his support.
The insider said: "He wants to be around just as often now that Ava and Deacon have a family unit with Jim. They mean a great deal to him."
Meanwhile, Reese – who is thought to be around 13 weeks pregnant – apparently wants to take a bit of time out from her acting career to enjoy the baby. The source added: "She wants to have this child and take time off.”
The ‘Four Christmases’ star met Jim at a party shortly after splitting with actor Jake Gyllenhaal in 2010, and admits she fell for his kindness.
She told Elle magazine: “It happened out of the blue. This really drunk guy was hitting on me, making such an idiot of himself, yelling at me. He was like, [slurring, scowling, pointing finger in her face] ‘You don’t know me’. And I was like, ‘Yeah, I know. I don’t know you!’
“Jim came over and said, ‘Please excuse my friend. He’s just broken up with someone’. Jim was a really good friend, pulling him out of that situation. That’s just kind of who he is, a really good person.” - Bang Showbiz
