London - Think you know what your man is up to when he’s typing away on his computer? Think again.
The results of a British survey will give you food for thought. It found that one in five men has a secret email account they use to hide emails from their partner – usually with an ex or somebody their other half doesn’t like.
Others said they deliberately set up the account because they were having an affair, while keeping financial issues from their partner also emerged as a common reason.
One in 20 men admitted buying a second cellphone to ensure ultimate secrecy and 77 percent of men said they regularly deleted SMSes in case their wife or girlfriend went “snooping” through their phone.
The poll, by UK firm Bullguard, also found 20 percent of men who keep emails hush-hush said there were certain aspects of their life their spouse just didn’t need to know about.
And one-quarter of men said they would be left red-faced if someone went through their “Google” history.
More than one in 20 men has even been dumped because of something incriminating a partner had found on their phone or laptop.
And a crafty one in four men uses a plethora of different passwords for their email accounts and social networking sites to try to deceive the lady in their life.
Nearly a quarter said they had content in their inbox that they wouldn’t want their partner to see, such as flirty e-mails or confirmation of purchases. One in 10 men has confided over email to friends about their relationship problems, which could also land them in hot water with their partner.
Of those polled, two-thirds choose not to share their passwords with their other half and 23 percent admitted to being secretive about what was stored on their phone and PC. And a guilt-ridden 18 percent of men also feel the need to delete certain pictures and video clips “just in case”. – Daily Mail
