Wealth makes a man more choosy?

London - Women, when your husband gets a pay rise, it may seem like a cause for celebration.

But higher earnings could have their downsides – as research suggests that as men get richer they become more choosy about their partner’s looks.

A team in China carried out experiments into love and money on almost 200 young men and women in serious relationships.

One group answered questions designed to make them unhappy with their income, while the others were made to feel well off. The volunteers were then asked how satisfied they were with their partner’s appearance.

The men who believed they were low on cash were less satisfied than those who felt flush, the journal Frontiers In Psychology reported.

As a result, a cash injection may lead to a man believing he can “do better”, suggested the Beijing School of Psychology team.

Women, on the other hand, showed no such fickleness.
