SA men can hold their own in size

Johannesburg - When it comes to penis size, we’re right up there. We put the Australians to shame, but we come nowhere close to our African brothers in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

New research has found that the average South Africa man’s penis is 15.2cm when erect. In the global stakes it’s above average – we’re bigger than the Australians (13.2cm), the British (13.9cm), Americans (12.9cm) and Irish (12.7cm).

And it towers over the average manhood in North and South Korea – the smallest in the study at a mere 9.6cm.

But one nation stands tall over all the rest, and that is the DRC. They clock in at a whopping 18cm.

They are closely followed by Ecuadoreans at 17.7cm, Ghanaians at 17.3cm and Colombians at 17cm.

In Europe, Icelanders are the best endowed at 16.5cm and the Irish are the second smallest at 12.7cm – behind only Romanians at 12.6cm.

Africans have the biggest penises, at an average of 16cm, and north-east Asians the smallest at 10.6cm.

British men are ranked just under the Germans, who are precisely the European average at 14.5cm.

The sensitive subject has been tackled by Richard Lynn, emeritus professor of psychology at Ulster University.

He is known for voicing the controversial view that evolutionary pressures have led to racial and national differences in intelligence.

Lynn says the findings confirm previous theories of “race differences in penis length”.

But critics have claimed that Lynn’s research is flawed because he has admitted gathering his data on penis length from websites.

Jelte Wicherts, professor of methodology at Tilburg University, Holland, said: “This is a brave paper in a controversial area but the data has no methodology.”
