Here are seven reasons Game of Thrones is so freaking amazing.

1. An utterly gripping storyline

Game of Thrones will eat all your free time as you keep hitting “play next” to find out what’s going to happen. Immerse yourself in the fantasy world of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, a land dominated by brutal power struggles, epic landscapes and supernatural forces.

As the battle for control over the Seven Kingdoms becomes increasingly deadly, there’s more to fear than just other humans. Beyond the boundaries of the Wall a terrifying darkness is growing. Winter is coming...

2. All of your favourite characters might die (and some come back from the dead)

The characters on GOT are phenomenal. You’ll find yourself rooting for them to survive - only to watch them leap to their deaths chased by evil forces darker than your worst nightmares. Similarly, some of the characters are so awful that you’ll be secretly hoping they’ll die a horrible death. But are they really dead?

3. Gorgeous locations

The production value on Game of Thrones is next level. Each episode feels like a mini-movie, shot in some of the most beautiful locations on Earth. Each of the seven kingdoms – whether it’s deep in the snow or the high desert - is brought to life in amazing detail.

4. Gorgeous people

The show is filled with violence, hedonism and debauchery - some of which will make your skin crawl. That said, there are also some beautiful bodies on display in numerous raunchy scenes and a significant amount of eye candy to feast on, whatever your tastes.

5. Dragons

Yes. Dragons. Fire-breathing, sheep killing, real-life flying dragons controlled by an extraordinarily powerful woman: aka Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen and Mother of Dragons. And yes, you do occasionally get to see baddies burnt to a crisp

6. Many shades of grey

There’s no clear line between good and evil in Game of Thrones. The complex storylines will have you changing allegiance as good people turn evil and bad deeds are done in the pursuit of what appears to be justice.

There isn’t a single hero or heroine, there are diverse characters taking centre stage at different times. The characters aren’t perfect and often get mixed up in less than savoury business - and some of the most kind-hearted are killed off when you least expect it.

7. Because it’s won bucket loads of awards

Nominated for 23 awards at this year’s Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series, Game of Thrones has won some of the most prestigious awards in television. In 2015, it won 12 Emmys, setting a new record for most Emmy wins by a series in a single year. There are just too many to list, but you can check them out here: ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_awards_and_nominations_received_by_Game_of_Thrones)
