London - You may be a quick dipper or prefer to soak for hours. But the perfect bath is 39C, lasts 27 minutes and 12 seconds – and accompanied by one candle and music by Adele, a study found.

One in seven Britons chose the award-winning singer to soundtrack their bathing time – which also feature bubbles 70 percent of the time.

Rather than relax, many use their time in the tub to keep up with daily tasks, according to a survey by bathroom retailer Bathstore.

Checking work emails, online banking and internet shopping are carried out by 20 percent of Britons using their phones and tablets in the bath. We are so obsessed with social media that one in five update their Facebook, Twitter or Instagram accounts in the bath.

More than a quarter – 28 percent – are even happy calling a friend, relative or colleague. Claire Bayliss, of Bathstore, said: “Though there’s clearly still a lot of appreciation for seeking complete tranquillity via a good soak, it appears the tub is now a hub for life administration.”

The survey also found 22 percent of Britons enjoy an alcoholic tipple in the tub. And 44 percent have no problem sharing the bath with someone else – with six percent saying it results in more amorous activity. - Daily Mail
