Men’s hearts might finally be in the right place when it comes to helping with the housework.

But it seems they’re not quite up to the job yet, for women spend an average of three hours a week redoing chores their partners “haven’t done properly”, says a study.

It found that four in 10 households now share the chores evenly. But helping with laundry, vacuuming and washing up are among basic tasks men fail to complete to their other half’s satisfaction.

Arranging sofa cushions, making the bed and cleaning worktops are also areas where men are lax.

The problem could be that men don’t consider house-work a priority. The study of 2 000 women found more than half believe that if their partners could be bothered, they would do a better job of the chores. – Daily Mail
