Independent Media and Dis-Chem, The Dis-Chem Foundation are on the verge of reaching their goal of sanitary pads in the 2016 #MillionComforts campaign and you can help them meet their 3 million target by the end of July by donating a pack.

Independent Media selected Caring4Girls as the campaign beneficiary as they have a national footprint helping vulnerable schoolgirls attend school. “Our mission with the #MillionComforts campaign is to uplift the education and subsequent development of women in South Africa, ensuring that they have the same opportunity as young men to matriculate and find meaningful employment,”said Barbara Mcgorian, marketing manager for the Gauteng region and initiator of the drive.

To date, 2,836 380.00 pads have been collected in the second annual menstrual hygiene drive. The products collected in the purple bins at Dis-chem stores will be handed out to teen girls who are at risk of missing school due to inadequate sanitary protection. Caring4Girls has benefitted over 300000 schoolgirls between the ages of 13 and 18 in schools countrywide. Help us reach the target by donating pads at any Dis-Chem or The Local Choice pharmacy for just R9,95.
