Durban - Unfazed by jealousy and criticism he has received from some South Africans, stylish Irvin Randle has told the “young men” to up their game if they want women’s attention.

The 54-year-old veteran teacher from Texas in the US became an overnight celebrity after he posted pictures showing his toned features, well-maintained beard and flair for fashion. He has been a teacher for 22 years and teaches at Peck Elementary School in Houston, Texas.

And bad news for the jealous haters is that Randle will soon be winging his way to South Africa.

The “hot grandpa” is one of the guests who will grace the Essence Festival in Durban, which presents international performers and speakers for expert talks and discussion on a variety of subjects aimed at empowering women and their communities.

Randle will be in Durban between November 13 and 19.

He attended the recent Essence Festival in New Orleans that was attended by a number of eThekwini officials. They would not reveal how they had lured Randle to South Africa.

Some scratched out his pictures with a computer paint programme and captioned the pictures “enough is enough” and “we are tired of you”.

Facebook user Zukhanye Dzingwa wrote: “If Irvin Randle could come to South Africa, it is bye-bye girlfriends’ to the boyfriends.”

Charmed Lisa Jojo said: “I do not like the name they have given him, MrStealYourGrandma’. He is MrStealYourChick actually. Ladies like his official page and let us post his pics every day to annoy all the young male haters in South Africa.”

Monwabisi Rataza retorted: “My South African sisters, we are not jealous of the American brother, we are just concerned you will never get a piece of him. Now stop comparing us to him.”

Responding to the male haters, Randle said: “Young men, instead of hating, wake up and go to the gym. I am all yours, ladies.

“Young men, drink plenty of water, don’t smoke, have protected sex, drink natural juice mostly, eat a lot of vegetables and healthy food, sleep early, wake up early. The way your body needs water every day is the same way it needs exercise. You can do it, too. A healthy life is all you need.”
