She’s become one of the richest women in the country after bringing the Rampant Rabbit device to the High Street.

And Jacqueline Gold, founder of sex toy and lingerie firm Ann Summers, yesterday added a CBE to her list of successes. The 55-year-old beamed as she collected her award from Princess Anne at Windsor Castle. She later admitted she had a mobile phone cover with Rampant Rabbit ears on it with her for the ceremony.

Miss Gold, honoured for services to entrepreneurship, women in business and social enterprise, said: ‘There is nothing greater than being recognised for something you’re passionate about.’

The tycoon, who is the UK’s 16th richest woman with a £250million fortune, revealed she is taking up a role with the Government’s Women’s Business Council, saying: ‘I have empowered women in the bedroom. Now I want to empower more women in the workplace.’

Miss Gold has high hopes for Theresa May, saying having a female prime minister could inspire women. She also said it would be ‘fabulous’ if her daughter, seven, one day takes over her business.
