Why is it that when the temperature drops, everyone everywhere starts exclusively wearing dark colors? We’re not suggesting you wear head-to-toe neon, injecting your winter wardrobe with some vibrant shades will brighten your day and those around you. Brighten up with one of these three hit colours that were autumn/winter 2016/17 trend on the runways.

Mustard Yellow

A cloudy take on the traditionally in-your-face color, mustard yellow is winter's answer to summer's sunny shades. Try a chunky knit with dark denim or a tiered dress and ankle boots.

Somewhere between brown and orange, rust is equal parts elegant and cool. It's dark enough to be easy on the eyes yet bright to make a statement. It's best when rendered in fluid silhouettes. Pair this with any colour hue in the same family for a head-turning effect.

A rich alternative to the obvious festive red, a robust green shade reads timeless sophistication. Trade your black coat for a pine-colored version or tuck a romantic top into gray slacks.
