Speaking about his wardrobe must-haves, the 'Happy' hitmaker told Harper's Bazaar Online: "I have the larger style and it's great for travel.

"I wear it across the body, low slung like a messenger. I can be hands free with easy access to the things I need."

Although the star relies on the product when he is jet-setting off across the globe, he has revealed he doesn't fill it with many items, and will only pack the bag with five items, including a pack of strawberry mints, a book, hand sanitiser and a scarf in case he gets cold during the journey.

When asked about the contents of his bag, the fashion muse said: "I usually keep my phone and headphones in my pants pocket – and add the Chanel's Gabrielle bag to carry my other essentials: aux cord, strawberry mints, a book, hand sanitiser and scarf."

Meanwhile Pharrell – who is married to Helen Lasichanh with who he has son Rocket and newborn triplets with – has revealed water is a "huge inspiration" for him.

Speaking previously, he said: "Of all the elements, the one I identify most with is water. I grew up in Virginia Beach. I live in Miami. I love boats and I adore being out in the ocean – it's the best feeling in the world. Sometimes I feel like I live on water. Most of my ideas come to me in the shower and the sea always inspires my work. So you can see why water is a huge inspiration to me."
