Are you an aubergine or a parsnip, guys?

London - When it comes to body shape, are you an apple? A pear? Or how about a parsnip, leek or rhubarb?

According to a new body shape guide, there are now a whole range of fruit and vegetable labels to describe our figures.

For women’s body shapes these include the double cherry, which describes those with a curvy bust but small waist such as Kim Kardashian and Nigella Lawson.

And boyish rhubarbs, with slim hips and small busts, can count the Duchess of Cambridge and model Cara Delevingne among their ranks.

The guide, for both men and women, has been created by Debenhams, after research revealed 86 percent of the store’s customers felt confused about dressing for their shape.

It claims most men now want to be parsnips – with the wide shoulders, developed chest muscles and slim hips of celebrities such as diving star Tom Daley – while leeks, such as comedian Russell Brand, are identified by their narrower shoulders, hips and long legs.

Gaynor Davey, personal stylist manager at Debenhams’ Oxford Street store, said the guide was “not about being too prescriptive, but instead helping to inspire people to try new things”. - Daily Mail
