PLAYSUIT

The playsuit is big news this summer! This is the fashion girl's must-have wardrobe staple to create effortless style. It literally takes 10 seconds to get out of the front door, because it is an all-in-one outfit. Wear your playsuit with cute flops and a sun hat when hitting the beach or add metallic wedges and a skinny tie choker for a sexy night out.

STYLIST TIP: Pair your jumpsuit with heels to create the illusion of long and lean supermodel legs.

PLEATED SKIRT

Our favourite skirt just got a makeover! Don't be afraid to wear a colour block print pleated skirt, because you can't get more on trend than this. It's the perfect choice for a romantic walk on the beach or brunching in the Cape Winelands. Currently we are feeling the the classic denim- shirt-and-pleated-skirt combo which Victoria Beckham loves to wear.

STYLIST TIP: Look like a Fashion Editor by tucking your shirt into your pleated skirt. This will change your look from cute to chic in an instant.

STATEMENT JUMPSUIT

Be the best dressed guest at your next event! Think clashing prints, colour block and wide leg pants which move along with your body. This global trend is getting even bigger with celebs like Jo-Ann Strauss, Aisha Baker Parnell and Pearl Thusi posting their stylish jumpsuit looks on social media. According to H&M, you can be both bohemian and classic chic wearing a jumpsuit - just alter your accessories and heel height.

STYLIST TIP: Don't be afraid to experiment with different shapes and textures. You'd be surprised how flattering jumpsuits are for women with curves.

SEXY SHORTS

It's all about the legs! Local style icons Melinda Bam and Minnie Dlamini are giving us major envy wearing their variety of sexy summer shorts looking on point. This trend might come across as intimidating at first, but the key is to know your body and pick a style that works for you. I was blessed and cursed (still deciding) with the 'Kardashian curves' and have never owned a pair of shorts until recently. I found that pleated shorts work best for curvy figures as the folds allow for fabric to move with you, not against. My other style tip would be to buy shorts with a slit on the side as it makes your thighs appear a lot smaller and allows space for your body to move.

STYLIST TIP: Throw an extra length cardigan or kimono over your shorts to create a boho chic vibe.

T-SHIRT DRESS

Every woman needs that one dress she can wear from day to night. This is perfect for slouching on the couch while binge watching Modern Family, because style doesn't get more comfy than wearing a shirt as a dress! We love this light as a feather dress from POETRY which is perfect for the woman who prefers comfort but doesn't compromise on style and elegance. Also a perfect choice to take from daytime to evening glam!

STYLIST TIP: The best advice I can give is to keep it simple. Wear your t-shirt dress with sneakers and a pair of sunglasses - perfection.
