Gallery: Organic never looked so good
A fashion show featuring garments made from real flowers, grasses, leaves and fruit is held every year in Cali, Colombia, to raise awareness of environmental protection and to stress the need to switch to sustainable materials.
Biofashion 2013 featured the work of 18 female and two male fashion and design students who had been mentored and taken through workshops by an established designer, Hector Quintero. They competed for prizes.
Working to the theme “Natural Talent”, they used materials such as rose petals, daisies, carnations, heliconia, leather, grass, palm, eucalyptus, canvas, lemon peels, seeds, sapote, sisal, foliage, branches and jute fabric, among others. - The Star
