It doesn't matter if you are a size 32 or 42, curves are curves and if you were gifted in that division, be thankful and embrace your beautiful body.

First things first, accept the fact that you are not skinny and that it is okay. The second you start loving your body, dressing becomes a second nature. Besides, women like us don't have to do 1000 squats at the gym a day; we already have the perfect figure!

There are no rules when it comes to colour and stripes is most definitely not going to make you appear larger!

Skinny jeans are your friend! I don't understand why magazines are always telling curvy women to wear boyfriend cuts. It doesn't do any justice to your shape and in fact, hides away your curves. Choose a dark wash denim for the illusion of leaner legs and look for a high waist to elongate your legs - it also does magic to hide your muffin tops as well as wearing the correct underwear. The right bra prevents sagging and takes off kilograms instantly.

Whoever decided that off-the-shoulders tops and dresses are going to be summer's biggest trend, deserve a gold medal. Not only does it add a lot of chic to your outfit, it doesn't leave you with those unwanted tanning stripes, it also hides all the wrong parts in all the right places.

Heels literally go a long way. As I'm always on the run between events and fashion launches, I prefer chunky heels over stilettos, because of the comfort level. Chunky heels or wedges makes you appear longer, gives you instant confidence and feels as comfortable as wearing flops.

Maxi dresses work wonders on the day you don't have the time or energy to put a full outfit together. The key is to look at fabrics. For instance if you wear cotton instead of polyester, you will sweat less with the fabrics not clinging against your body.

Don't shy away from shorts. Plus-size supermodel Ashley Graham said: "Don't be afraid to show your legs. I mean, we all have a little cellulite, so who cares?'' The secret is to wear high waisted shorts to create the illusion of longer and leaner legs. The length should be midi, not too short neither too long. A wide tie belt at the waist will make your waist appear smaller and pockets at the front take away the focus from your hip area.

Now you are probably thinking 'but how does a curvy woman pull of beachwear?' Okay, so there's no magic pill, but a spray tan can do wonders to your body! Using a self tan is my biggest secret weapon when hitting the beach as it makes my body appears leaner, stronger and more toned. Kimonos are also the perfect styling tool to hide away any unwanted rolls leaving people thinking that you are just have a super glamorous day.

In the end, you know your body best and what makes you feel comfortable. My biggest advice is not to be afraid to try on garments you think will never work… you might just find your next showstopper outfit!
