An Italian motorcycle, it has been said, is not so much a machine as a mechanical mistress - and here's the perfect opportunity to get away for a naughty weekend with yours.

The Italian Motorcycle Owners Club of Cape Town will host South Africa's first national gathering of Italian motorcycles over the weekend of May 20-22 at the NA Smit resort in Oudtshoorn.

There are a number of fun events planned for the weekend including several outrides - or you can just chill and chat to fellow riders.

Entry is free, but you do have to pitch up on your Italian motorcycle, and your food and accommodation are for your own account.

Book your accommodation directly with the resort management at [email protected] or +27 44 272 2313. Tell them it's for the Italian Motorcycle Weekend - and don't forget to put your name down for the braai on Saturday.
