Jeff Pritchard of Colwyn Bay in Wales took the saying “You're never too old” quite literally, when he tackled an epic journey from North Wales to Thailand in just eleven weeks.

Fulfilling a lifetime ambition, 66-year-old Pritchard set off from his bike shop, Colwyn Bay Motorcycles, on August 19th, with the target of reaching Thailand in eleven weeks.

17 600km IN 80 DAYS

Riding a 1994 BMW R100GS, he rode 17 600km through Germany, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, the Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, China and Laos. He reached Thailand on 7 November, with a welcome-home party held just over a week later.

“The ride was an absolute dream come true,” he said. “It's been great to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK in the process too, and I'd like to thank everybody who supported me on this trip.”

You can still make a contribution to Jeff's chosen charity, Prostate Cancer UK.
