South Africa's Junior Motocross team finished a creditable fifth - out of 35 countries taking part - in the Junior Motocross World Championship in Sevlievo, Bulgaria at the weekend.

Consistent results throughout the weekend put the Netherlands at the top of the points standings, ahead of Italy, the United States, Australia and South Africa.

Conditions were tough: the Gorna Rositza circuit in the northern Bulgaria has 18 corners and 28 jumps - and temperatures soared to 46 degrees on race day.

Fourteen-year-old Brad Cox from Cato Ridge on KwaZulu-Natal, finished a remarkable seventh overall in the 85cc Pro-Mini class and was the highest individual points scorer for the South Africans.
