Plus badge means meaner performance for the TT RS.
Audi has used a simple mathematical unit to name its latest sports car, the TT RS Plus.
It's basically a TT RS +15kW, +15Nm, +30km/h, +meaner styling.
Hitting the streets in both Coupé and Roadster guises, the Plus puts out 265kW and 465Nm. Audi has not elaborated on what's been done to the RS' 2.5-litre, five-cylinder turbopetrol motor, although we suspect it's just a mapping job.
As with the 'non-plus' RS, this beast puts its power to the tar through all four wheels via either a six-speed manual or seven-speed S tronic gearbox.
Fitted with the seven-speeder, the Plus will (allegedly) screech from standstill to 100km/h in just 4.1 seconds, making it 0.2 seconds quicker than the standard version and Audi has also tampered with the speed limiter to allow a top whack of 280km/h.
Theoretical fuel consumption for those with a light foot remains unchanged at 8.5 litres per 100km.
Keeping the world informed about its slightly more sinister nature, the Plus is set apart from the stock RS by 19-inch alloy wheels painted black with contrasting red rim flanges as well as a grille in highly polished anthracite and black wing mirrors hewn from carbon fibre reinforced polymer.
Designers also added a large, fixed rear wing to increase downforce at the tail end of the car. Even the engine compartment gets a more exclusive look thanks to the Carbon Design package.
Despite all its plusses, there is a big minus as far as we're concerned - Audi South Africa says the TT RS Plus is not destined for South Africa.

It is probably more expensive to rent than own a property at the moment. Landlords are taking advantage of the population who can only rent because they cannot get the huge deposits required to purchase a home. However a really great car with great performance. What other colours does it come in a I only like Ferrari in red.

Jealousy can make some people quite mean? who says you cannot drive this car and still own a mansion? You are such a loser. If you cannot afford it, just admire it and stop being judgemantal.
