BMW 4 Series Coupe concept revealed

Judging by how production-ready this bad boy looks, the BMW Concept 4 Series Coupe that you see here paints a clear picture of the car you'll see in showrooms next year.

Replacing the 3 Series Coupe and Convertible models, the 4 Series is quite evidently still based on the latest 3 Series but BMW has clearly seen the need for some badge differentiation and exclusivity for its sportier models.

This extends to the styling, which makes it more of a standalone design than before. Compared to the 3 Series Coupe that it replaces, the Concept 4 Series is 44mm wider and 16mm lower, while the wheelbase and overall length have also grown. These dimensions allowed designers to create a longer bonnet and a more athletic profile that's befitting of a premium coupe.

BMW is still remaining mum on the technical details, but the mainstream range should mirror the sedan that we already know and further down the line there will be that obvious M3 cherry on top, which will almost certainly be powered by a new force-fed six-cylinder motor, and it may even have three turbochargers.
