Still looks very heavy, the design team (nobody should take sole responsibility for something that looks like it was designed by a committee) cannot make up their minds on how to incorporate modern headlght clusters. There is still a screen in full view of the driver taking his eyes of the road while the low profile tyres will still spoil the ride.

I drove the new 1 series last week in the UK. I must say, it feels different and has a harder suspension. Loved it thou. Pity about the long waiting list!

I saw this at the JIMS 2011. It looks better in real life. I'm not saying it's nice or not nice, just saying that you get a different view of it in real life. But i maintain that the back still looks like a Stilo, some say the Polo.

The first 1 series was ugly but I accomodated it because I love BMW, but this one is just NASTY. The new 3 series is also not good, its more like a facelift.

It's a mash of many car designs in my opinion. The rear looks like the new VW Polo, the front looks like the older BMW 5 Series, the actual shape resembles the Mazda 3...so if you ask me, it's a little bit of uninspired design!

Whats up with bmw they seem to be copying the liquid theme from the koreans (Hyundai) those headlights and the front looks like the old hyundai elantra of the mid 90s with a bmw nose & grille.I understand the biggest international problem (skills shortage) affecting also the design engineers but the price tag????????????

I am a BMW fan big time and I was not sure when I first saw it but having seen it in the flesh it is a very interesting and good design. The interior is superb.
