Aachen-based tuning haus AC Schnitzer have turned their attention to BMW's third-generation 6 Series coupé, only weeks after its official launch in October.

The result is stunning, especially in white like the show car you see here, which will be shown for the first time at the upcoming Essen motor show in Germany.

It starts with a Schnitzer aero kit, including a chromed grille and trim strips, a new front bumper with dramatically deepened spoiler, body-colour side skirts, a boot-lid spoiler and a new rear bumper with a two huge (and apparently very authoritative) chromed tailpipes.

The interior projects a no-nonsense, let's-get-on-with-it, track-day ambience with a sports steering wheel, an alloy cover for the i-Drive knob, alloy pedals and footrest, and velour floor mats and boot liner.

Under the bonnet there's BMW's familiar 4.4-litre V8, heavily leaned on by AC Schnitzer to deliver an eye-watering 397kW - 97kW more than standard! - and 750Nm (compared to the original 600Nm), driving the rear wheels via an eight-speed Steptronic transmission.

Unsurprisingly, this knocks more than half a second off the car's 0-100 sprint, bringing it down to just 4.3sec, while top speed is up from a governed 250km/h to an unlimited 325km/h.

But power is nothing without control, so the 6Coupé (that's what Schnitzer calls its hot Six) runs lower and stiffer on a Schitzer suspension kit, and stops harder, thanks to Schnitzer's own specially-developed eight-piston brake callipers.

And the final touch? Rims, of course, blinged to the max, in a variety of styles and sizes from 19” to 21”.

Price? If you need to ask, you can't afford it.
