Detroit - With the Chevrolet Cruze having been around since 2009, the all-new second-generation model can't come too soon.

While the international reveal is set to take place on June 24, Chevrolet has just released a new teaser image and some information about the new version of its best selling car.

This official pic reveals the front end of the new Cruze, where it looks notably different to the current model and also resembles the latest Volt PHEV, while the interior - partially revealed last week - follows the usual GM design template while adding Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functionality.

Promising a higher level of all-round sophistication, GM says its new Cruze will be larger yet lighter than the current version and it'll also sport new engines and additional safety gadgets, although we'll have to wait until the reveal for all the specifics. Turbo-charge all the engines this time, please GM.

GMSA recently launched a facelifted version of the current Cruze, aimed at tiding it over for the time being. Our local contact says the Cruze will definitely be considered for our market, although no timing could be given at this stage.
