Having already pulled the covers off the facelifted hatchback and wagon models a month ago, Ford has now revealed the latest version of its Focus four-door sedan, which is arguably the best looker in the line-up.

The new Focus range goes on sale in South Africa during the fourth quarter of this year and brings an entourage of EcoBoost turbopetrol power in the form of a 91kW 1-litre, three-cylinder and a 1.5-litre four-pot that offers output levels of 110kW and 132kW.

Naturally, the facelifted four-door follows its hatch sibling in gaining a new face dominated by a large trapezoidal grille flanked by new headlights, and the back end has been freshened up with new light clusters and a restyled bootlid.

On the inside, Ford has boosted appeal with new seat trims and switches and a redesigned centre console, while thicker carpets and side window glass along with improved engine bay insulation are in place to ensure a quieter ride.

It's too early to confirm local specifications, but the models offered in the US and other markets are available with gadgets like Blind Sport Information System, a lane-keeping system, rear-view camera and a Sync AppLink system that allows numerous driving-related apps to be downloaded.
