Beijing Motor Show - Taking pride of place on the Hyundai stand at the China International Exhibition Centre is this very nearly production-ready compact SUV concept, displaying the most aggressive iteration yet of the company's Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy.

STYLE AND PRACTICALITY

The sophisticated ix25 - and the name tells you exactly where it fits in the Hyundai model hierarchy - is 4270mm long on a 2590mm wheelbase, 1780mm wide and 1630mm high, with a two-litre Nu petrol engine.

It’s aimed, says the maker, at younger buyers looking for style and practicality in the same vehicle, and the production version is scheduled to be launched exclusively in China later this year, where it will line up alongside the ix35, Santa Fe and Grand Santa Fe as Hyundai's SUV team effort in what is now the world's biggest automotive market.
