Jaguar recreates Lightweight E-Type

  1. Car Zero is the unnumbered prototype of the new Jaguar Lightweight E-Type.
  2. New cars willl be sold as period competition vehicles and will be eligible under FIA rules for historic racing.
  3. The six new cars are the missing six from the Special GT E-Type project of 1963 that were never built.
  4. With 255kW pushing only 1000kg, performance will be exciting even by modern standards.
  5. The only non-original feature is a tubular-steel roll cage, mandatory for historic racing.
  6. Six chosen customers will be invited to discuss bespoke trim with Jaguar head of design Ian Callum in person.
  7. Much of Car Zero interior, including floorpan, sills and rear areas, has intentionally been left unpainted.
  8. Perforated 15-inch magnesium-alloy rims are exact replicas of the 1960s originals.
  9. Endurance-racing quick filler is standard issue.
