Kia's generously-sized seven-seat SUV, the Sorento, has yet to become particularly old or saggy at this stage of its life, but that hasn't stopped the Korean carmaker from giving it a slight makeover.

The American-market 2013 model you see here features a mildly revised front end. There's less chrome in the grille as the current model's shiny grille surround gives way to a more aggressive-looking black treatment while the signature Kia 'tiger nose' treatment comes in the form of a small chrome strip.

The Sorento also receives a new bumper, which boasts a cleaner look with its three main elements being more aligned.

It doesn't appear as if much has changed on the mechanical front, so the South African model is likely to soldier on with the current 147kW/422kW 2.2 turbodiesel and 207kW/335Nm 3.5-litre V6.

The US-spec Sorento benefits from a few spec changes, including a voice-activated satnav with real-time traffic updates and an Infinity premium surround sound system. It's not yet clear if the South African model will benefit from any spec changes as the local press department was not available for comment at the time of writing, but it is likely that at least the styling changes will filter through later this year.
