This, says Lotus, is a car for Serious Drivers; the Evora Sports Racer, with sharp new interior and exterior trim and colours, teamed with Lotus' top 'street' specification, available in both naturally-aspirated or supercharged variants.

It's available in a choice of four colours: White, metallic grey, dark blue and bright red, with special gloss black graphics across the roof, front splitter, rear diffuser and side sills. The badges, mirror housings and rims are also blacked out, with either black or red brake callipers, depending on just how racy you want your Evora to look.

Inside, the 2+2 seating option is standard, with black leather sports seats, trimmed with red contrast piping and stitching - or you can ask for red leather with black contrast piping and stitching. The dashboard, door panels are lined in grey faux suede with red contrast stitching, with gunmetal dashboard panels, as is standard in the Evora S.

TOP SPEC

The mid-engined 3.5-litre V6 comes standard with all the chimes and flutes: the sports pack provides a switchable sports mode with sharper throttle response, increased rev limit and sportier settings for the dynamic performance management, as well as sports diffuser and cross-drilled brake discs.

The tech pack, on the other hand, includes upgraded speakers and stereo system, a DVD player, a 180mm touchscreen display, Bluetooth connectivity, mini-RCA and USB connections, tyre pressure monitoring, cruise control and rear parking sensors, electric power-folding mirrors and a reversing camera.

PRICES

The Evora Sports Racer retails in the UK at £57 900 (R800 000) for the naturally-aspirated, 207kW Evora or £65 900 (R911 000) for the 258kW supercharged Evora S.

The Evora S Sports Racer is available to order now for delivery in South Africa during the first quarter of 2013; local pricing has yet to be confirmed.
