If you plan on breaking the law in Italy anytime soon, you'd better make sure you choose your getaway car very carefully.

In fact nothing short of a supercar that goes faster than 325km/h will give you even the slightest chance against the latest addition to the Italian State Police fleet.

This Polizia weapon is none other than the new Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4. Speedy arrests are ensured by a 5.2-litre V8 that shoves 448kW and 560Nm through all four wheels to get the raging bull from zero to 100km/h in 3.2 seconds and on to a top speed of 325km/h if necessary.

But isn't this a waste of taxpayer's money?

Not at all - Lamborghini has donated it to the police force, with CEO Stephan Winkelmann personally handing it over to police head Prefect Alessandro Pansa.

This is not the first time Italian police have had Lambo power at their disposal - the new Huracán Polizia replaces the Gallardos that were used since 2004 and 2008.
