GMSA has replaced its Opel Corsa 1.4-litre 3-door model with what it calls the Corsa Colour Edition. Aiming to be something of a peacock of the hatchback world, it is available in five flamboyant colours, these being: Sunny Melon; Magma Red; Oriental Blue; Casablanca White; and Black Sapphire.

The bold colours are complimented by dark tinted windows and a glossy black roof. Customers have a choice of either black or silver 17-inch alloy wheels to round off the visual package.

Its colourful attitude continues inside the cabin. Here you'll find a leather clad steering wheel as well as colour highlights on interior fittings such as the surrounds for the air vents. These vent surrounds, as well as the seat stitching, match the exterior colour of the vehicle. Furthering its cause as a sporty pretender, the cabin also gets sports-style front seats and alloy pedals.

On the mechanical front, the Colour Edition comes with a sports chassis, but it's not going to be much of a fire-breather with GM's latest naturally aspirated 1.4-litre engine beneath the bonnet.

Mind you, this 16-valve motor is relatively powerful for its size, with outputs pegged at 74kW at 6000rpm and 130Nm at 4000rpm.

It's priced at R180 750 and in addition to all the aforementioned features, it has the obligatory air conditioning, remote central locking, electric windows and CD/MP3 audio system.
