One 911 Club Coupe will occupy a place of honour at Porsche headquarters as a mark of respect to Club members worldwide.

There's exclusive and there's Exclusive - and then there's a 911 so exclusive that you not only have to be an existing Porsche owner to qualify, you have to be invited to buy one of the 12 that will be allowed in private hands.

No, we're not kidding.

The first Porsche was built in 1948 and the first Porsche Club was established just four years later. A group of seven enthusiasts founded the Porsche Club of Westphalia in May 1952, and a second Porsche club was founded by six Ferdinand fans in Berlin later that same year.

Today, exactly 60 years later, there are 640 official Porsche Clubs in 75 countries with about 181 000 members.

And, in honour of those 13 founding Porsche Club members, the company has created an exceptional car, the 911 Club Coupé. Exactly 13 and no more will be made, one of which will occupy a place of honour at Porsche headquarters as a mark of respect to Club members worldwide.

The rest will be offered to a dozen Porsche Club members, who will be chosen by a lottery to acquire one 911 Club Coupe each, at a less-than-exclusive €142 831 (R1.5 million) each ex factory.

Each will be finished in a subtle dark green, traditionally the colour of choice for cars owned by members of the Porsche family, with contrasting glossy trim strips.

The words '911 Club Coupe' will be blazoned across the bottoms of the doors in the same place - and the same script - as the signage on Carrera GTS models, and each car will have a Sport Design package, consisting of a special front bumper moulding with integral splitter and a rear spoiler derived from the classic 911 Turbo 'whale tail'.

Now that's exclusive.

The doorsills will be finished in body colour with a brushed stainless-steel inlay, with the inscription '911 Club Coupe' laser-cut and backlit in white, and connected to the car's interior lighting, as well as the anniversary logo '60 Years of Porsche Clubs'.

Even the key will have its own leather pouch with decorative stitched and embossed “911 Club Coupe' lettering.

Each 911 Club Coupe will have a Carrera S boxer engine with direct fuel-injection, tweaked to deliver 317kW - 22kW more than the 911 standard Carrera S, thanks to modified cylinder heads and camshafts, a newly developed variable-resonance intake system with switchable flaps, a sports exhaust system with two dual tailpipes, dynamic engine mounts and a re-mapped ECU.

Each car will have a unique switch-panel trim strip, laser-engraved with the name of the owner.

.

The engine compartment will even look special, with a titanium-coloured engine cover sporting carbon-fibre inserts.

In Sport Plus mode, a 911 Club Coupe with double-clutch transmission will bolt from standstill to 100km/h in four seconds flat.
