Porsche unleashes Boxster, Cayman GTS

Stuttgart, Germany - Harking back to the legendary 904 Carrera of 1963, the GTS badge - which stands for Gran Turismo Sport - comes with a rather serious performance promise.
The latest Porsches to take that oath are South Africa's most recent Car of the Year winners, the Cayman coupé and Boxster roadster.
Although the new Boxster and Cayman GTS models don't deliver any radical performance gains over the regular S versions, we're coming off a rather high base here, now aren't we?
In each variant, the 3.4-litre straight-six has been reworked to deliver an extra 11kW and 10Nm, bringing the tally up to 243kW/370Nm in the case of the Boxster GTS and 250kW/380Nm in the Cayman GTS.
Leaping off the mark the pair will, according to Porsche, bolt from zero to 100km/h in 4.7 and 4.6 seconds respectively, if the optional PDK double-clutch gearbox is fitted. In six-speed manual form, the models reach 281km/h and 285km/h.
The GTS performers stand apart from their regular counterparts with bespoke 20-inch alloys and details such as blackened bi-xenon headlights.
For the ultimate adaptability between fast cornering and comfortable cruising roles, the Boxster and Cayman GTS feature Porsche's PASM suspension management system and the Sport Chrono package as standard.
The two occupants sit snugly in sports seats covered in a combination of leather and Alcantara.
South Africans can order their Boxster or Cayman GTS now for May delivery and prices will be announced shortly, Porsche assures.
