Renault's facelifted-for-'14 Koleos SUV has landed in South Africa - and nobody is going to confuse it with the previous model, thanks to its distinctive new front treatment, reflecting Renault's latest design language.

The diamond logo is front and centre on a new chromed grille, bumpers and side mouldings are now body-coloured, door mirror housings get new LED indicator repeaters and side protective strips are now chromed.

But it's not all about looks; new features include Renault's R-Link in-dash media and navigation system with a 180mm touchscreen display, steering wheel-mounted remote controls and console-mounted joystick.

R-Link provides real-time traffic updates and high-definition maps, along with a full suite of multimedia functions, from radio to Bluetooth, linked to USB and auxiliary ports in the centre console.

Fabien Payzan, vice-president of marketing and communications at Renault South Africa, said: "The Koleos has become a sophisticated SUV, with refined finishing touches and top-of-the-range leather upholstery."

The charcoal leather trim adds the finishing touch to the Koleos' heated fronts seats, power-adjustable driver's seat, steering wheel and gear knob, complemented by power windows all round, satin chrome door handles and remote central lock via an electronic keycard.
