If ever there was a survey to determine the ugliest car of the last decade, Ssangyong's Stavic MPV would be a hard act to beat.

But it seems the company no longer wants to compete at the bottom end of the aesthetic gene pool - just look at what a neat job they've done on the latest Korando.

It appears the same new broom is set to sweep clean the next-generation Stavic, which has just been previewed through the official renderings that you see here.

Set to hit global markets early this year, the new MPV will be offered with a choice between 2-litre turbodiesel and 3.2-litre petrol engines.

Ssangyong says the vehicle has been designed to fulfill various needs from business to leisure and travel.

To that end, it will also be equipped for off-road driving.

Please try to contain your excitement.
