Small, narrow, skinny 'kei' mini-cars like this enjoy a strong following on the crowded streets of Japan and Suzuki's latest attempt to stay ahead of the game is the latest version of its MR Wagon.

Slightly less miniature than its predecessor (inside the cabin at least), the new MR Wagon benefits from a wheelbase extension of 65mm, which allows for a better ride and more passenger space.

Granted, this car is still measures a mere 3395mm in length and 1475mm in width and relies on a tiny 660cc, three-cylinder engine to pull it along.

Customers can choose between a naturally aspirated 40kW version of this engine and a 48kW turbocharged variant, both mated to a CVT transmission and there's even an all-wheel drive option.

Not only has the exterior been completely redesigned but the cabin has been modernised too, with a touch screen entertainment system being available. Surprising for a car of its size, the MR Wagon is also available with ESP and a hill-holder.
